PROFHILO®
Deep Skin Hydration & Natural Radiance in Auckland

What Is Profhilo®?

Profhilo® is an award-winning injectable treatment designed to hydrate and remodel the skin, giving it a smoother, plumper, and more luminous appearance.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which are designed to add volume or contour specific areas, Profhilo® is more like a specialised serum with the texture of runny honey, that spreads evenly beneath the surface of the skin to improve overall tone, texture, and elasticity - without altering your natural features.

It’s made from pure hyaluronic acid, a substance your body naturally produces to keep skin hydrated and plump.  But what makes Profhilo® unique is its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production, giving your skin the tools it needs to repair and strengthen itself over time.

What Skin Concerns Can Profhilo® Treat?

Profhilo Injection Points

Profhilo® Face - 5 Injections per side

Profhilo® Bio Aesthetic Points

Profhilo® Neck - 10 Injections

Profhilo® is especially well-suited for early to moderate signs of ageing, where the focus is on improving overall skin quality rather than altering facial shape or structure.  If your skin is feeling dehydrated, dull, or has lost some of its natural elasticity, Profhilo® may be the gentle, restorative treatment you’ve been looking for.

The treatment itself involves a series of small injections placed just under the surface of the skin, that are carefully designed to target areas of concern and ensure natural-looking results.

On the face and neck, injections are administered using the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique.  This involves precise injection points, selected for their strategic placement and effectiveness in encouraging optimal spread of the product, with minimal discomfort and downtime.

Profhilo® can help improve the appearance of:

  • Fine lines and early wrinkles

  • Loss of firmness or elasticity

  • Dry, dehydrated or dull skin

  • Crepey texture (especially around the cheeks, neck or dé colletage)

  • Uneven skin tone or roughness

  • Skin laxity on the hands, arms, and other delicate areas

  • A general lack of radiance or youthful ‘bounce’

Step-By-Step: Your Profhilo® Treatment
at ALLOR Cosmetic Medicine

Before Your Treatment: How to Prepare

The following are general preparation guidelines commonly recommended before Profhilo® treatment. Your individual situation may vary, and you should always follow personalised advice provided during your initial consultation.

1. Please avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, ibuprofen and other anti-inflammatories) for 24 hours before treatment to minimise bruising and swelling.  If you take prescribed medications, these will be discussed during your initial consultation.  Do not stop any prescribed medications unless advised by your prescribing doctor.

2. Arrive at your appointment with clean skin, your skin will also be cleansed before treatment.  Arriving make-up free helps ensure a clean canvas and minimises the risk of infection.

3. Avoid facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, hair removal and microdermabrasion for at least one week beforehand and one week after.  Active skincare ingredients such as retinoids (vitamin A/retinol), AHAs, and exfoliants are typically paused for at least three to five days beforehand, as these can increase skin sensitivity.

4. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to support healthy, hydrated skin.

5. If you have any active skin infections, cold sores, allergies or other concerns, please let us know before your appointment so these can be discussed and managed appropriately.

6. Schedule your treatment at least two weeks before any important events to allow time for settling and optimal results.  Also please ensure you remain in Auckland for one week after your treatment, to ensure any complications can be swiftly treated.

7. If you feel unwell, have dental work or vaccinations in two to four weeks prior to your treatment, please let us know as we may need to re-schedule your treatment.

During Your Profhilo® Treatment

1. Profhilo® treatments typically take 45 minutes.

2. Profhilo® is carefully injected using an ultra-fine needle across specific points that are chosen to encourage the smooth, even spread of the product beneath the skin.  This technique is designed to maximise hydration and collagen stimulation, while keeping discomfort minimal and allowing for a faster, more comfortable recovery.

3. When using Profhilo® on the face, I target injection points to your areas of concern, whilst also following the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique - a method designed to achieve the most natural and even spread of the product.  This involves five carefully placed injections on each side of the face, typically targeting the upper cheek, nasal base, lower cheek, jawline, and chin.

4. Some patients may experience a slight pinching sensation or mild pressure at the injection sites, however most find the procedure very manageable.  If you are concerned about sensitivity, I can use topical numbing cream and distraction devices to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your treatment.

Immediately After Treatment: What You’ll Notice

1. Immediately after your Profhilo® treatment you may notice some mild swelling, tenderness, or redness around the injection sites.  These effects are completely normal and usually settle within a few hours, up to a few days.

2. Bruising can occasionally occur, depending on the area treated and individual skin sensitivity, but we take every precaution to minimise this risk.

3. It is common to experience small areas of firmness initially as the Profhilo® begins to integrate naturally with your tissues over the following four to six weeks.

4. We provide you with clear aftercare instructions with a contact phone number and can recommend tailored skincare products to support your healing if desired.  We also schedule a complimentary follow-up four to six weeks after your treatment to review your progress, answer any questions, and ensure you are happy with your results.

When Profhilo® Results Start to Show

1. You may start to notice early improvements in your skin’s hydration and texture within the first few days after your Profhilo® treatment.  However, the most visible results - including improved firmness, smoother texture, and a natural, radiant glow, typically develop over four to six weeks as your collagen and elastin production is gradually stimulated.

2. For optimal results, a minimum of two to three sessions are recommended, spaced four to six weeks apart.
